AnalytIQ Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 20, 2026
AnalytIQ operates the AnalytIQ data analytics learning platform and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Service.
This policy is designed to comply with applicable privacy and education data protection laws, including FERPA, U.S. state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, and applicable international data protection frameworks.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: We collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). We also store your role, such as student or instructor.
- Profile Information: Optional profile details may include display name, biography, and profile image.
- Class and Course Data: We store classes, enrollments, course materials, and related educational content uploaded to the Service.
- Learning and Practice Data: We collect data related to your use of the platform, including progress, exercise results, scores, completion status, and time spent.
- AI Feature Data: If you use AI features, we store your prompts and the AI's responses as part of your persistent chat history so you can revisit past conversations; this history is deleted when you delete the conversation or your account. This data is not retained for training artificial intelligence models.
- Support Communications: We collect information you provide when contacting support.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and Usage Data: We collect technical information such as IP address, device type, browser type, and usage patterns to operate and secure the Service.
- Local Storage and Session Data: We use browser storage to maintain session state, preferences, and authentication tokens.
1.3 Information from Service Providers
We use service providers that process data on our behalf, including:
- Supabase for hosting and database infrastructure
- AWS cloud infrastructure via Supabase
- Email providers for transactional communications
- Google Gemini API for AI functionality
- Sentry for error and performance monitoring (PII excluded by default)
These providers process data only as necessary to operate the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use data to:
- Provide and operate the Service
- Authenticate users and manage accounts
- Track learning progress and display educational results
- Provide AI assistance features
- Send transactional communications such as password resets
- Monitor system performance and security
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use personal information for advertising.
3. FERPA and Education Records
When the Service is used by educational institutions, AnalytIQ acts as a "school official" with a "legitimate educational interest" under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
Education records may include enrollment information, coursework, progress data, and instructor feedback.
AnalytIQ processes such records solely on behalf of institutions and under their direction.
AnalytIQ does not own student education records, and all rights remain with the educational institution and student.
Student data is never sold or used for marketing.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information.
We share data only in limited circumstances:
- With service providers that operate the platform
- With instructors regarding student learning progress
- When required by law
- In connection with business transfers
All service providers are contractually required to protect data.
5. Analytics and Tracking
We do not currently use a dedicated product-analytics or usage-tracking tool. We use Sentry for error and performance monitoring only (see Section 1.3); it is configured not to collect personally identifiable information by default.
If we add product analytics in the future, this policy will be updated first, and no student identifiers will be sent to a new analytics provider without legal review.
We do not use tracking for advertising or cross-site behavioral profiling.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the Service.
If you request account deletion, your personal data is permanently deleted from active systems.
Educational institutions may retain records separately within their own systems.
System and audit logs (including IP addresses and user identifiers tied to account actions) are retained indefinitely in our database; we do not currently operate an automated log-purge process.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS
- Encryption at rest
- Role-based access controls
- Secure cloud infrastructure
- Authentication protections
No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. AI Data Handling
AI features process user prompts to generate real-time responses. Prompts and responses are also stored as part of your persistent chat history until you delete it.
AnalytIQ does not use stored prompts or student data to train artificial intelligence models.
9. International Data Transfers
AnalytIQ operates from the United States and hosts data on infrastructure located in the United States.
By using the Service, international users consent to the transfer and processing of their data in the United States.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access personal data
- Correct inaccurate information

Students using the Service through an educational institution should direct requests related to education records to their institution.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
12. California Privacy Rights
California residents may request information regarding personal data collected, request deletion, and exercise rights under applicable privacy laws.
We do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes.
